Challenge We Discovered: The City of Jefferson’s branding no longer reflected the rapid growth and forward momentum the community was experiencing. Its visual identity and messaging failed to align with the city’s evolving goals, long-term vision, and expanding economic footprint.

Our Creative Solutions: Ghost Brands approached the project from the ground up; meeting with department leaders, council members, educators, business owners, and key stakeholders to truly define “Who is Jefferson?” We gathered direct input from citizens, including hosting on-site surveys and community feedback sessions at Freedom Festival, ensuring the new brand was built from the voices of the people it represents.

On-Going Campaigns: Beyond developing the city’s new brand identity, we extended the strategy into execution by helping launch the Jefferson Natatorium, including its branding and team name development. Our work ensured cohesive alignment across municipal departments and new city initiatives, reinforcing a unified and future-focused identity for Jefferson as it continues to grow.

Municipality Audit

As part of our Municipality Audit, Ghost Brands immersed ourselves fully in the City of Jefferson over five consecutive days of on-the-ground research and discovery.

We toured the city extensively, studied its history, and evaluated its physical presence, infrastructure, and community touchpoints. Dedicated time was spent meeting individually with city council members, the mayor, business leaders, City Hall staff, and engaged citizens to gain diverse perspectives.

By intentionally listening first and consuming insight directly from residents, we ensured the foundation of the new brand was built on authenticity, not assumption.

Community Relations

As part of our Community Feedback mission, Ghost Brands returned to the City of Jefferson during its annual Freedom Festival; a Fourth of July celebration drawing more than 9,000 residents and visitors. We engaged directly with attendees, collecting over 400 in-person surveys and holding in-depth conversations with both lifelong citizens and first-time visitors.

This approach allowed us to capture authentic insight from those who live and work in Jefferson every day, as well as valuable outside perspectives on how the city is perceived. By listening to both internal and external voices, we ensured the brand direction reflected not only what Jefferson is; but what it aspires to become.

Brand Development

Following our comprehensive audit and community feedback initiative, Ghost Brands entered a six-month brand development phase dedicated to building Jefferson’s future identity with precision and purpose.

During that time, we created more than 20 brand concepts, including city seals, merchandise systems, individual department logos, and a fully unified municipal brand architecture. Every concept was rooted in the authentic character, history, and forward momentum expressed directly by Jefferson’s residents and leadership.

Through iterative collaboration and strategic refinement, we shaped a visual and messaging system designed to serve the city for decades; not just for a season. The final brand captures the true spirit of Jefferson in a way that instills pride across its citizens, City Council, school system, and the broader community it represents.
